The Citizenship Amendment Act will benefit thousands of displaced persons from Pakistan living in Rajasthan. Our correspondent reports that about 50 thousand people are living in the state who came from the neighbouring country in the last 5 to 6 decades due to adverse circumstances.

As per the data received from state home department, about 18 thousand people have been displaced from Pakistan to Rajasthan in Last  Eight Years.

Out of these, about 12 thousand people will get benefited of Indian citizenship.

But, the organization working for displaced persons is saying that about 25 thousand people came to Rajasthan after the year 2000 will be benefitted.

The number of Persons came before 2000 is also in thousands.

Out of them, many are still waiting for Indian citizenship from 4 to 7 decades.

Most of these persons are living in border districts including Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner.

This bill has cleared the way for such people to live with security and dignity of Indian citizenship.
