Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the funeral of social worker Ghanshyam Das Masani in Gondia today and paid tributes to him. Masani was Chief Minister Chouhan’s father in law.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that he has never seen arrogance in Ghanshyam Das Ji’s behaviour in the last 28-29 years. He remained faithful to all, while living a sincere and pure life. Till his last breath, his face reflected gentility, simplicity and calmness.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that before he became Chief Minister for the fourth time, Masani had come to Bhopal and would often hold discussions with him despite his ill-health. Chief Minister Chouhan said that when he himself was admitted in the hospital for the treatment of Covid-19, he was informed late about Masani’s being unwell. Later, Masani also came home after treatment from the hospital. He maintained his desire to live while fighting diseases. A strong supporter of nationalist ideology, Masani was ideologically active even at the age of 88. He was on wheelchair but still joined Deepawali Pujan recently. Chief Minister Chouhan said that he received his affection throughout his life. A soft hearted and simple man, Masani has left behind a special identity. Chief Minister Chouhan prayed for peace to the departed soul of Masani.
Social workers, officials and citizens take part in last rites
Chief Minister Chouhan, his wife Smt. Sadhana Singh and other relatives reached Gondia in the morning. Also, Late Masani’s mortal remains was also brought to Gondia in an air ambulance this morning. Masani’s last rites were performed at the Mokshadham in Gondia Pindkepar. Local citizens, social workers and officials in a large number attended the funeral. Balaghat Range Inspector General of Police K.P. Venkateswara Rao besides Collector and S.P. Balaghat also took part.
