Bhopal: Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed strong resentment over the misbehavior with beggars in Indore today. He directed the district administration to take stern action against the guilty in this regard. Deputy Commissioner of Municipal Corporation  Pratap Solanki has been suspended on the instructions of the Chief Minister. At the same time, two other Municipal Corporation personnel have been dismissed from service.

It may be noted that in view of severe cold in Indore city today, instructions were given to shift the beggars to Rain Baseras. Meanwhile this incident came to light. Deputy Superintendent of Municipal Corporation  Pratap Solanki was entrusted with the responsibility to supervise this work.  Solanki was however negligent in his work. Due to this callousness on his part, he has been suspended with immediate effect and directions have been given for his posting outside Indore.

It has been clarified by the Municipal Corporation that in view of the extreme cold, instructions were issued to shift the beggars to night shelters with full care. It was noticed that in many places the beggars are spending the night without any shelter in the cold. Taking a humanitarian initiative like every year, the Municipal Corporation was instructed to shift them to rain baseras but there was negligence in this work. Concrete action is being taken to ensure that it does not recur in future.
