CM Chouhan performs bhoomi-pujan of Singrauli airstrip

Bhopal: Chief MinisterShivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the works started for the overall development of Singrauli will be completed soon. It will also be made an ideal smart city. Here the airstrip is not just an airstrip but a new and important beginning of development. This will accelerate economic development. This airstrip will be developed as a convenient airport, so that the area gets its full benefit. By connecting with the major cities of the country, the region will now get a place in terms of tourism, employment and industrial development. Performing virtual bhoomi-pujan of Singrauli air strip by remote from his residence Chief MinisterChouhan said that Singrauli airstrip will prove to be a milestone in the development of Singrauli region. The state government has allotted 80 hectares of land for Singrauli airstrip costing Rs 35.30 crore. This work should be completed within the time limit ensuring good quality and it should be developed as an airport so that it can be connected to other cities of the country. Chief MinisterChouhan said that now a person wearing a hawai chappal also can afford to board an aeroplane. Middle class or lower middle class people can also avail facility of air travel. Chief MinisterChouhan said that he wishes to visit Singrauli. Corona has stopped movement. Corona has also changed the method of working. Today if not physically, I have the opportunity to join the programme virtually. Chief MinisterChouhan said that Singrauli will become Singapore. Together, we all have plans for the development of Singrauli. Singrauli district has made progress in every area. The mineral revenue of the state is derived maximum from this region. Along with this, 15 thousand MW power is also being produced here. We began acquiring cheapest electricity at the rate of one rupee 19 paisa from Singrauli Sasan plant. Employment opportunities have increased from coal mines. Efforts will be made in this direction to provide employment to 70 percent of local people. Singrauli is the major power hub of the state and the country.

Chief MinisterChouhan said that when Singrauli was declared a district in the year 2008 the idea was that the region would be made the most developed district in the state. Singrauli has progressed in every field in the last 12 years. Coal production has also increased, employment and economy have gained momentum from power plants and coal mines. Chief MinisterChouhan said about starting a medical and engineering college in Singrauli and construction of Sidhi Singrauli road soon. Chief MinisterChouhan said that the Gond irrigation project, which costs Rs 885 crore, will change the picture of the region as it will facilitate irrigation of 33 thousand hectare area. With this, water will reach the fields of farmers in Singrauli district and better irrigation will be possible.

Chief MinisterChouhan said that Public Works MinisterGopal Bhargava will ensure completion of these works within the time limit. The construction of Singrauli airstrip will add new dimensions to the development of the region. Tourists from India and abroad will be able to tour Panna National Park and other places including Khajuraho. Industries of Singrauli will reap benefits. The state government will also seek cooperation in the development of entrepreneurs. Chief MinisterChouhan said that he will soon visit Singrauli and inaugurate other construction and development works. Chief MinisterChouhan instructed small businessmen such as blacksmiths, cobblers, owners of small salons, vegetable sellers, fruit sellers etc. to provide benefits to maximum number of people in Singrauli district under the Street Vendor Scheme. He also urged citizens to take adequate precautions against Corona.

Chief MinisterChouhan said that Prime MinisterModi is doing remarkable work in the field of development of the country and farmers. All three new laws are in the interest of farmers. Facility is being provided to farmers to sell their produce anywhere apart from mandi. The Minimum Support Price will continue. Farmers will be avail benefits from contract farming. The farmers will not get the price below the fixed price. This will keep the farmer in profit. Loans are available to farmers in the state at zero percent interest. The Kisan Samman Nidhi amount has been increased. Sambal Yojana has also been resumed. The benefits of crop insurance scheme are also being provided to the farmers. Citing the example of purchase of paddy from farmers by a company at the rate of Rs 3000 per quintal in Hoshangabad district, Chief MinisterChouhan said that resistance to the new law is not at all rational. The new laws are for the welfare of farmers.

While attending the bhoomi pujan programme through video conference from Sagar, Public Works MinisterGopal Bhargav said that Public Works Department is working on the construction of airstrip in Singrauli, known for industrialization, energy, coal mining. Apart from the arrival of entrepreneurs and tourists with air connectivity, this airstrip will prove useful in sending various serious patients to the medical institutes of Delhi, Banaras, Lucknow etc. to get the benefit of treatment. Principal Secretary Public Works DepartmentNeeraj Mandloi expressed gratitude to the public representatives present. MP Sushri Riti Pathak, MLAs of Singrauli district and citizens were present.
