CM lauds employees’ body of frontline COVID warriors

Mangaldai : Being deeply concerned with the fate of their future financial and job security despite their duties like a frontline COVID warriors , the Darrang district chapter of All Assam  NHM Medical and Paramedical Employees Association consisting all the contractual technical health workers including doctors, pharmacists, lab technicians and nurses under NHM has moved the Assam Chief Minister through a memorandum with a few charter of demands. The memorandum addressed to the CM was submitted at the hands of Deputy Commissioner on Monday by a three member delegates of the employees’ body comprising its secretary Bharat Baruah, and two members Ajit Medhi and Anjan Baruah respectively. The charter of demands included equal pay for equal work, provisions of EPF and GPF, leave rules, health card and facilities of bank loans for the children and dependent parents of the employees among others. It may well be mentioned here that the Darrang district itself has reportedly accounted for nearly 2200 such employees against the State’s figure of 24,000.
