GUWAHATI : Corona havoc in Northeast India, 22,287 new cases have been reported in 24 hours. Assam has the highest number of Kovid-19 cases in Northeast India, followed by Tripura. In Assam, the total number of deaths from KOVID-19 now stands at 127048. Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote in a tweet that “47744 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in Assam.
Out of 3555 cases, Kamrup (Metro) 924 cases, Nagaon 236, Dibrugarh 213 and Bakar 200 were registered.Out of which 1000 cases are of Guwahati. At present, the total number of corona infected patients in the state is 16,806. On Thursday, eight people died of Kovid-19 in Assam following which the death toll from the epidemic in the state has increased to 335, Health and Family Welfare Minister Hemant Vishwa Sarma said. He said that seven patients died in Guwahati Medical College and Hospital and one patient died in the KOVID-19 center set up at IIT-Guwahati.It is mentioned that according to the Health Department report, 5 MPs and 12 MLAs have also been infected with coronovirus in Assam.
Eight more coronavirus deaths were recorded in Assam on Thursday, with the death toll being 323. The names of the dead are: Shakuntala Sen aged 63, Kajal Dutta aged 66, Wahida Rehman aged 60, Madhabi Bhattacharjee aged 75, Jamir Uddin 60, Prabhat Chandra Bora aged 82, Bulu Devi aged 69 and Prafulla Sagaria attained the age of 72 years. It hurts to mention that, the patients allege that the Health Department does not have any facility at Kovid-19 Hospital in Assam.
Patients who were brought to the Nehru Stadium KOVID-19 Emergency Hospital yesterday received nothing for 15 hours. Neither water has been given nor any medicine has been received. There are no doctors and nurses, some patients have alleged today.Other northeastern states of Mizoram, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh are also playing a very good role in dealing with Corona. The number of corona patients in these states is very less compared to other states of the country.
