Crore scam for Assam Police Sub-Inspector post

GUWAHATI : BJP accused absconding leader Dibana Deka was involved in the sub-inspector recruitment scam. He has been surrendered to the Assam Police. Dibana Deka, who claimed to have served the BJP for 24 years, surrendered on late night of 30 September at Patakharuchi Police Station in the newly formed Bazili district. He was brought to Guwahati, about 95 km southeast, on 1 October. Mr. Deka was allegedly involved in leaking the question paper of the police sub-inspector job to be held on September 20. Hand-written copies of leaked questions were used in the “written test” conducted for 50 candidates.

The Assam Police had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to the informer on Diddaban Deka. Assam Police said in a press statement that Guwahati City Police had received reliable information about the accused accused Dibon Deka in the Crime Branch case number 13/2020 U / S 418/420/120 (B) IPC.Accordingly, the Crime Branch team reached the venue on the midnight of 30 September. On the same day, around 11.49 pm, the said Dibon Deka was found traveling with his wife while checking near Pathasla town. Identified as the wanted accused in the said case, he was detained and brought to Guwahati under a strong police escort by the Crime Branch officials where he was lodged in a police lockup after a medical examination.

He was produced in a Guwahati court and remanded to five days police custody of the Guwahati City Police Crime Branch. According to the police, a question paper at the Thank You Lodge in Ganeshguri, Guwahati, during the raids conducted by the Crime Branch of the Assam Police Dewan Deka’s involvement in the scandal came to light after being recovered. According to sources, a police team led by Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Assam, GP Singh is taking Diwan Deka to Guwahati.State Director General of Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta denied the involvement of his state’s police force, while Home Department in-charge Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that no one would be spared if he was found responsible for the recruitment examination scam. A reliable source from the Assam Police’s Criminal Investigation Department said that BJP leader Diban Deka has indicated the involvement of several “unscrupulous” police officers in the scam.

After being questioned, BJP leader Dibana Deka named several BJP and RSS leaders involved in the scam. There has been a panic within the Assam Police and the Bharatiya Janata Party about this. A reliable source of the Assam Police said that the allegations made by the Congress have just come true. A BJP leader and RSS leader has also come out with an equal stake in the scam. Now corruption is likely to be exposed in the BJP-led Assam government. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party Assam state president Ranjit Kumar Das has boycotted criminal Dibon Deka immediately from the party.
