​Dhanuka Agritech introduces insecticide for chilli crop

Hyderabad: Dhanuka Agritech Ltd., one of the leading agri-input companies in India, introduced DECIDE – a powerful insecticide for the southern market in India today. This powerful insecticide has excellent efficacy against sucking pests in chilli that will help farmers getting control over multiple pests like mites, thrips, and whitefly, with a single spray.

DECIDE is a novel insecticide with a unique combination of two molecules brought to the Indian subcontinent with the collaboration of Mitsui Chemicals Inc., Japan and Dhanuka Agritech Limited.

“It is a powerful insecticide available in water-dispersible granule formulation and has excellent efficacy against sucking pests in chilli to help farmers get control over multiple pests with a single spray, without the need of mixing different insecticides,” said Abhishek Dhanuka, National Sales Head, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd., after introducing the product here.

Dhanuka Agritech had earlier launched DECIDE, a unique 9(3) molecule, in the northern, eastern, and western parts of the country.

Farmers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana which together account for over 67 per cent of the country’s chilli production, are grappling with the problem of a new pest ‘thrips’. The pest was noticed in early 2020 in red chilli crops in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The pest population flared up in October 2021 that affected the flowering of the Chili plant and made them unfit for fruiting. This also led to heavy flower drop and yield losses.

Elaborating upon the various aspects of the latest insecticide, he stressed that besides the quality and right quantity, the timing of applying pesticide is also key for proper growth of the crop and tackling invasive pests.

The company has been launching various technologically advanced and diversified products to help farmers to protect their crops and increase their yields.

Recently, Dhanuka also introduced Cornex and Zanet. Cornex, is a single-shot solution for farmers for controlling major broad leaf weeds, major narrow leaf weeds and sedges (Cyperus rotundus) in maize crops. Zanet, a new and unique combination of Fungicide & Bactericide, effectively controls complex disease infection on tomato crop.

Backed by strong Research and Development as well as collaboration with several US, Japanese and European agrochemical companies, Dhanuka currently offers 80 products in the market.
