Kokrajhar : Various student organization like the All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU), All Bodoland Minority Students’ Union (ABMSU), All Santhali Students’ Union (ASSU), All Kalita Students’ Union (AKSU) and BTC Nath Yogi Students’ Union (NYSU) today carried out a protest dharna near the Deputy Commissioner office in Kokrajhar on fulfillment of their various demands including review of the BTC accord 2003 and sixth scheduled amendment Act 2003.
Around a 100 members of the organizations carried out the protest dharna from 12 noon to 1 pm. A memorandum was submitted to the Prime Minister through the Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner office.
The demands includes to have a constructive review of the BTC accord 2003 and sixth scheduled amendment Act 2003, to initiate formal talks in the highest level with different groups individually for the permanent solution of their problems. The groups also demanded not to take any political decision in BTC region without proper consultation an consent of the representative of different organizations.
