Kokrajhar: A diabetes checkup cum awareness camp was organised by the Lower Assam Diabetes Society in association with MRM Memorial Hospital, Kokrajhar at Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner conference hall for the employees of Kokrajhar DC Office and journalists.
Dr Dewark Sharma, Consultant Diabetologist, MRM Memorial Hospital, Kokrajhar attended the camp. Free blood sugar measurements, blood pressure measurements and necessary consultation were carried out during the day long camp.
Dr Sharma said the camp was designed with the objective of creating awareness about diabetes. He said diabetes can be prevented if a person leads a healthy lifestyle, take controlled diets which include fresh fruits and vegetables, and reduce consumption of high cholesterol food. Leading a stress-free lifestyle is beneficial in preventing diabetes, he said.
