DJ Group of Institutions Appoints Ex Apollo Construction Head Sanjeev Gupta for Execution of DJ Medicity
Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh : DJ Group of Institutions, a Delhi–NCR-based healthcare education network operated under the Jassar Dental Medical Education Health Foundation (JDMEHF), today announced the appointment of Sanjeev Gupta as Group Head – Construction and Planning, as it advances DJ Medicity, an integrated healthcare and education campus, with a focus on strengthening execution across clinical planning, operational efficiency, and quality benchmarks.
Sanjeev Gupta brings over 28 years of experience in project execution, construction management, and operations across healthcare, commercial, residential, and institutional infrastructure. Prior to this, he served as Construction Head at Apollo Hospitals, where he oversaw multiple greenfield and brownfield projects across India, including planning, budgeting, and execution. His experience spans the development of large-scale, super-speciality healthcare infrastructure across leading private hospital networks such as Action Cancer Hospital, Yashoda Hospitals, Max Healthcare, and Artemis Health Institute—bringing a level of technical depth and execution rigour not typically seen in conventional medical college-led projects.
Commenting on the appointment, Rhitik Jassar, Chairman, Jassar Dental Medical Education Health Foundation and DJ Group of Institutions, said, “As the saying goes, plans are only as strong as their execution. While we had engaged CDA (Creative Designer Architect), one of India’s leading healthcare architects, our focus has always been on ensuring that this vision is delivered effectively on the ground. This appointment reflects our commitment to bridging that gap and building an aspirational hospital facility.”
“Sanjeev’s Ji experience across leading healthcare institutions such as Max, Apollo Hospitals, and Fortis brings significant depth to the project’s technical and execution capabilities. His integrity, capability, and proven track record will be instrumental in delivering a world-class asset within defined timelines, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and long-term relevance,” adds Jassar.
In his new role, Gupta will lead construction strategy, planning, and execution across the group’s infrastructure initiatives, with a primary focus on delivering the DJ Medicity project. He will oversee end-to-end execution, including design coordination, budgeting, vendor management, and regulatory compliance, aligning project timelines with the group’s broader vision of building a world-class healthcare ecosystem in Modinagar.
Commenting on his appointment, Sanjeev Gupta said, “I have worked with several established large corporations. However, it is the vision of the Jassar family and the sentiment behind this project that prompted me to take up this challenge and transition from private hospital projects to teaching hospitals and medical education. We are working with some of the best MEP, structural, and landscaping consultants in the country, along with CDA. I am committed to Rhitik Jassar’s vision of building an aspirational hospital that will serve as both a benchmark for excellence and a replicable model.”
Gupta will work closely with the leadership team to translate the group’s vision into an execution-led roadmap, ensuring alignment across stakeholders, contractors, and project teams while maintaining cost and quality benchmarks.
The appointment signals the group’s continued focus on strengthening internal execution capabilities as it undertakes one of its most significant infrastructure developments to date.
