DPS RN Extension hosted a combined celebration of the Academic Award Ceremony and Independence Day on 14 August 2024. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed Chief Guests, Mrs. and Mr. Siddhartha Upadhyaya, Founder and Secretary General of the STAIRS Foundation.
The celebration began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, dispelling darkness and ushering in the knowledge and wisdom. The school’s English choir then set an inspiring tone with their performance of ‘Confidence,’ inspiring attendees to pursue their goals with determination.
A highlight of the celebration was the captivating yoga presentation emphasizing students’ holistic development. This was followed by the Senior School Academic Award Ceremony, where students were honored for their exceptional academic achievements. The Hindi choir’s rendition of ‘Hum Sab Bharatiya Hai’ fostered a sense of national pride, complemented by the Junior and Middle School Academic Award Ceremony, which felicitated the younger achievers.
Further, the Chief Guest, Mrs. Siddhartha Upadhyaya, addressed the gathering, underlining the crucial role of education in nation-building and the contribution of young minds to shaping the future. The event culminated with a dynamic dance performance celebrating the 78th year of India’s independence, encapsulating the spirit of freedom and unity. Headmistress Mrs. Priyanca Ghosh delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all involved in making the event a success.
Mrs. Pallavi Upadhyaya, Principal, DPS RN Extension, delivered a moving address on the importance of resilience, dedication, and continuous learning. She expressed, “The combined celebration of academic excellence and national pride made the day a memorable and impactful experience for all. As we honour our students’ academic success, we are also reminded of the role each of them will play in shaping the future of our nation. Education is the foundation upon which we build the leaders of tomorrow and today’s celebration is a testament to that enduring mission.”
