Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, MDRF & Hinduja Foundation Organize Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Rally to Mark World Diabetes Day
Chennai: To commemorate World Diabetes Day 2025, Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, in association with the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF) and the Hinduja Foundation, organized a Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Rally at Besant Nagar (Elliot’s Beach), Chennai.The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from doctors, patients, families, and members of the public who came together to spread the message — “Type 1 Diabetes is not a limitation, it’s a journey of strength, awareness, and hope.”
The rally aimed to raise awareness about Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), emphasizing timely diagnosis, access to insulin, and the importance of continuous care and community support. Participants carried awareness placards and interacted with the public to convey that individuals with Type 1 Diabetes can lead healthy, active, and fulfilling lives.
Assistant Commissioner Thiru. M.S.M. Vallawan graced the occasion, joining the walk and motivating participants with his encouraging words. His presence added significance to the event, recognizing the courage and determination of those living with Type 1 Diabetes.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. V. Mohan, Chairman of Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre and MDRF, said: “At Dr. Mohan’s, we have always believed that awareness is the first step towards empowerment. Through this rally, we want to tell every child and adult living with Type 1 Diabetes that they are not alone. With proper care, education, and community support, they can lead perfectly normal and successful lives.”
