DRDO’s unmanned aerial vehicle crashes in Karnataka

In Karnataka, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) developed by Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) crashed near Jodi Chikkenahalli village, in Chitradurga district today. However, no one was reported hurt on the ground due to the mishap.

Official sources said, the latest version of Rustom-2 drone was flown on a routine test sortie but the ground control lost its contact after sometime when it was in the air and it crashed in an areca nut plantation close to Kudapur facility of DRDO.

The incident led to a large number of people throng the crash site to witness the disintegrated UAV before the police came and cleared the crowd.
