DronaHQ’s Campus Hackathon Encouraging Students to Build No-Code Apps

DronaHQ- the Cloud-based No Code App development platform organized No-Code Campus Hackathon 2020 in association with Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) in Mumbai allowing students to learn app development without going in-depth of coding. Traditionally, hackathons are associated with engineers and coders to create technology hacks to solve a challenge. DronaHQ’s campus hackathon invites students from non-engineering backgrounds to create apps using the no-code platform, breaking through space once occupied by engineering students and developers.

Citizen Developers with No-code technology are shaping the future of businesses and expediting digital transformation since it enables anybody to build apps without the expertise of a developer. The Hackathon aims to equip students with an extra skill set of building apps using DronaHQ’s No-code platform. Thereby, enhancing their portfolio in the job market.

Speaking on the importance of educating students on the strengths of No-Code App development, Divyesh Kharade, CEO and Co-Founder – DronaHQ said, “We at DronaHQ are keen to nurture the next generation of business enablers who are empowered with No-code tools. Academically, the new normal, post-pandemic, demands digital forte irrespective of business specialization students chose. Therefore, the target of this competition is to urge students to think ‘digital’ and give them hands-on experience building apps for business needs using no-code tools. The competition helped in engaging the students through a learning experience and workshops where they created apps that can have a real-world implication.

Adhering to PM Modi’s call for Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign, No-code Hackathon provides an opportunity for students to showcase their skills and locally generate solutions to everyday challenges. The knowledge of no-code app development enables one as a catalyst for an organization’s digital journey. Recruiters from various MNCs are now looking forward to hiring people with the capability to build solutions for their organization’s digital needs.

The competition commenced on 8th July 2020, where the teams, comprising  2-4 members, were given the resources like videos, blogs, community links etc. which aided the members to explore more about functionalities. The team worked on the app and submitted their final app on 30th July 2020.The winning team will get INR 15,000 +Credits worth USD 5,000 and also all the team members will be recognised on the DonaHQ’s official LinkedIn Post. The runner up team will receive INR 7,000 + Credits worth USD 2,500. All the participating students will be awarded the certification of No-Code Practitioner.

Makers from the No Code community were invited to share their experience and journey and inspire the students over virtual sessions
