Drugs, arms smuggling in North Eastern, heroin worth Rs 15 cr seized

 Guwahati: A total of four drug payers from two different locations in Assam were arrested by the police and seized heroin worth Rs 15 crore. This information was given by the police. According to a release from the state police headquarters, on the basis of a secret information in Karbi Anglong district, policemen caught a truck during a probe at Nought, which had 3.45 kg of heroin. According to police, two persons from Manipur were arrested and booked under the NDPS act. According to the communique, the preliminary enquiry revealed that the drug was being transported from Imphal to Guwahati.

Police say that in another incident, policemen raided a house and seized 88 containers and each had one milligram of suspected heroin. In addition, stolen goods from temples and Jagiroad paper mills were also confiscated from Morigaon district.
