Economy of the state is growing rapidly, says Planning Minister Deora

Bhopal: Finance, Planning and Economics Statistics Minister Jagdish Deora has said that the state’s economy is growing rapidly. Therefore, the data collection system needs to be constantly alert for the accuracy and accurate estimation of the data. For this, information technology will be used at maximum levels. Finance Minister Shri Deora was addressing a workshop focused on “Methodology and calculation for preparation of estimates of Gross Domestic Product of Madhya Pradesh” by the Planning, Economics and Statistics Department at the Academy of Administration today.

Minister Shri Deora said that sectoral accounting statistics has an important role in the industry group-wise analysis of the state’s economy. Estimates of State Domestic Product are an important indicator for evaluating the level of economy and development of the social and economic sector of the state. Data is the solid basis for the control of a strong economy and the implementation of developmental plans. He also appreciated the innovative efforts of the department.

Minister Shri Deora said that on the basis of state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GDP) at constant rate (year 2011-12) is estimated at Rs. 5 lakh 64 thousand 514 crore in the year 2020-21 as compared to Rs. 5 lakh 75 thousand 554 crore in the year 2019-20, while on the basis of advance estimates, the Gross State Domestic Product is estimated to be 6 lakh 21 thousand 653 crore in the year 2021-22 with a growth of 10.12 percent.

Minister Shri Deora said that the Gross State Domestic Product showing an increase of 4.01 percent at the prevailing prices has been estimated to be Rs. 9 lakh 76 thousand 281 crore in the year 2020-21 as compared to Rs. 9 lakh 38 thousand 602 crore in the year 2019-20. According to the advance estimates for the year 2021-22, with an increase of 19.74 percent, it is estimated to be Rs. 11 lakh 96 thousand 4 crore.

Finance Minister Shri Deora said that for the year 2020-21, the per capita income in Madhya Pradesh is Rs. 58 thousand 334 at a constant rate (year 2011-12). The per capita income has been estimated to increase from Rs. 1 lakh 3 thousand 103 in the year 2019-20 to Rs 1 lakh 4 thousand 894 in the year 2020-21 at the prevailing prices, showing an increase of 1.74 percent. On the basis of advance estimates, the per capita income for the year 2021-22 has been estimated at Rs.63 thousand 345 and Rs.1 lakh 24 thousand 685 respectively at constant/prevailing prices.
