EMAK Meets Union Minister Suresh Gopi to Elevate Kerala as the Premier Event Destination in the Country
Kochi: Officials from the Event Management Association of Kerala (EMAK) met with Suresh Gopi, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Ministry of Tourism, to discuss initiatives for transforming Kerala into the leading event destination in India.
During the meeting, EMAK’s State President, Raju Kannampuzha, presented a detailed proposal to the minister, outlining various schemes and plans to achieve this goal. Minister Suresh Gopi assured that the central government will prioritize destinations integral to the tourism industry, particularly those suited for the event sector.
The discussions also focused on promoting Kerala and India as prime locations for destination weddings and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) at international event expos. Ensuring better representation of India at these global events was highlighted as a key strategy.
Joining Raju Kannampuzha at the meeting were EMAK General Secretary Gincy Thomas, Treasurer Bahanan K Areeckal, CP Sabu, and Dhishan Ammanath.
