Mumbai : The global edtech major Emeritus (part of Eruditus), today announced the appointment of Sachin Mohan as Head of University Partnerships – India, effective July 2026. The appointment reflects Emeritus’s long-term commitment to India – one of its most strategically significant markets – and its intent to build deeper institutional partnerships as the company enters its next phase of growth.

Sachin brings over 15 years of experience across strategic partnerships, business development, P&L leadership and enterprise sales, spanning technology, higher education and digital businesses across India, Southeast Asia, Australia, the UK and the US. Most recently, at Great Learning, he built and led global university partnerships with leading institutions across executive education, certificate and university-led degree programs, while scaling multiple businesses, including the study abroad vertical in India. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Capillary Technologies and Genpact Headstrong Capital Markets.

In his new role, Sachin will lead Emeritus’s university partnership strategy, working with premier institutions to design and scale executive education programs that combine academic rigour with real-world industry relevance.

Per Emeritus Market Insights, the demand for executive education, industry-aligned certifications, and university-led programs have grown significantly over the past few years. Professionals across experience levels – with stronger engagement from seasoned professionals – are actively investing in purposeful, career-driven learning, and Emeritus has been at the center of that shift. In FY26, AI, technology and leadership programs accounted for 70% of all new learner enrolments on the Emeritus platform in India – reflecting the pace at which professionals are investing in structured, outcome-driven learning. At the same time, universities are expanding their focus beyond traditional programs, creating new opportunities for deeper collaboration between academia and industry.

The appointment comes as India continues to see strong demand for career-focused education.

Avnish Singhal, President – India, APAC & Middle East, Emeritus, said: ‘’India is one of our fastest-growing markets – and more importantly, one where we believe the opportunity is still in its early stages. That is precisely what excites us. Professionals today are not upskilling reactively; instead, they are investing in learning as a thought-through strategy, across every stage of their careers. Universities are responding to that shift too – moving beyond their traditional student base to meet professionals where they are. The opportunity to connect these two ambitions – institutional reach and professional demand – is significant, and Sachin brings exactly the experience and leadership we need to build for the long term. As we continue investing in India, strengthening our university partnerships is a strategic priority.’’

“I’ve spent much of my career building partnerships between universities, learners and industry, and I believe India is entering a defining period for higher education. Institutions are looking for new ways to extend their reach while maintaining academic quality, and professionals increasingly expect learning that keeps pace with changing careers. Emeritus has built a strong reputation globally by bringing these two worlds together, and I’m excited to work with our university partners to help shape the next phase of growth in India,” added Sachin.

An alumnus of IIM Lucknow, IIIT Bangalore and NSIT Delhi, Sachin will be based in Gurugram and will lead Emeritus’ university partnership initiatives across India.
