Entire High Speed Rail corridor connecting Ahmedabad & Mumbai will be completed by end of 2029: Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw
Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw has expressed confidence that the entire High Speed Rail corridor connecting Ahmedabad and Mumbai will be completed by the end of 2029.
Speaking to the media in Ahmedabad after reviewing various ongoing Railway projects in Gujarat, the Minister stated that the construction of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is progressing rapidly, with eighty per cent of the work in the Gujarat section already completed.
He added that the high-speed rail network is being developed in a phase-wise manner, with the first operational section connecting Surat to Bilimora scheduled to open next year.
The Minister also interacted with the Engineers and the construction teams at the Ahmedabad Bullet Train Station site. During his one-day visit to Ahmedabad, Mr Vaishnaw also reviewed key railway infrastructure and development initiatives in the city.
Mr Vaishnaw announced that the Omnagar underpass will be completed before the upcoming Navratri festival.
The Minister also reviewed the progress of the redevelopment of Ahmedabad Railway Station and discussed the master plan for the redevelopment of Asarva Railway Station, which will transform it into a modern transport hub featuring enhanced passenger amenities and improved city connectivity.
To ensure smoother passenger movement, plans were reviewed to extend the Sabarmati Station Road and improve access around Shahpur.
