First of its kind ISOI student chapter launched at Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata

On 22nd November, Instrument Society of India (ISOI) had launched its first student chapter in Kolkata at Department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation, Heritage Institute of Technology. The chapter was inaugurated by Prof. Arup Kumar Raychaudhuri, Distinguished Professor Emeritus and J. C. Bose Fellow (SERB) in the presence of Prof. R.Bhar, Governing Council Member, ISOI, Dr. Pranay Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute, Prof. Madhurima Chattopadhyay, HOD, Department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation, Heritage Institute, Shri Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions, Kolkata and other faculty, students and staff members.

 

After the inaugural ceremony, Prof. Raychaudhuri spoke on the topic “ Innovation and a case for affordable Instrumentation.” During his speech, Prof. Rauchaudhuri stressed on the fact that every student should be job giver not merely job seeker. Moreover he highlighted the need of entrepreneurship and tech start-up in India since the job market is shrinking rapidly. He also motivated the students to innovate and use various applications in the field Instrumentation to start enterprises which would solve problems of mankind in a rational way. Also he mentioned that merely innovation will not be sufficient but it has to be feasible and rational from the investors’ point of view taking into consideration the marketability of the applications.

 

More than 200 staff and faculty members attended the programme. The chapter will start functioning form now onward offering students various training programmes so that they can be Industry ready and also try some unique concepts for the positioning themselves as budding entrepreneurs.
