Five-day online IMPACT training concludes under Samagra Shiksha in J&K

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the five-day online IMPACT training of Grade II and III teachers concluded under Samagra Shiksha yesterday. AIR, Jammu Correspondent reports that about 400 teachers from two zones of district Doda attended the online programme. The training was conducted through DIET using JKKN platform and ten Resource Persons facilitated by five Course Education Mentors (CEMs) and Pratham Facilitators (PFs) conducted the technical sessions.

Principal Secretary of School Education Department Dr. Asgar Samoon revealed that as requested by the UT Government, the National Council of Educational Research and Training team had initiated the process of developing this unique course for 37,000 elementary stage teachers in the UT.

Based on need assessment, a short course entitled Integrated Multi-disciplinary Professional Advancement Course for Teachers (IMPACT) with comprehensive features has been designed to be conducted in three phases, Face to Face mode (for five days), Field work (21 days) and Reflection and Assessment (three days). Five-day face-to-face phase of IMPACT package including 10 modules which will provide teachers with knowledge, understanding and skills on generic concerns and on subject specific pedagogy in the area of Environment, Languages, Mathematics, Social Sciences and Science. Care has been taken to focus on enhancement of teaching skills and sensitivity for integrating social concerns. The trained Resource Persons will further impart training to targeted teachers in a phased manner through existing digital platform-J&K Knowledge Network following all SOPs of Covid-19 pandemic.
