From Terminal to Kitchen: HPCL Scales Up LPG Supply Network to Deliver Over 166 Lakh Cylinders Nationwide

Mumbai : Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) continues to demonstrate the strength and resilience of its LPG supply chain, ensuring seamless movement of cylinders across the country—even as demand patterns remain elevated in select markets.

Between 1st and 13th April 2026, HPCL delivered over 166 lakh LPG cylinders, supported by a highly coordinated, technology-enabled supply network that connects terminals, bottling plants, transport systems, and last-mile delivery channels across India.

The journey of each LPG cylinder begins at HPCL’s refineries and import terminals, where LPG is received and prepared for distribution. From here, bulk LPG is transported through a fleet of tankers to a network of strategically located bottling plants, forming the backbone of the supply system.

At these plants, cylinders undergo a stringent, automated process of inspection, filling, sealing, and safety checks, ensuring quality and safety at every stage. Once processed, cylinders are dispatched to distributors, who ensure timely doorstep delivery to consumers.

This large-scale movement is complemented by strong demand across segments, with HPCL supplying over 3.70 lakh Free Trade LPG cylinders of 5 Kg and over 21,400 cylinders of 2 Kg, further strengthening access to clean energy for migrant workers and economically diverse communities.

Driving this ecosystem is HPCL’s near-total digital integration, with 99.3% of LPG bookings now being made through digital platforms. This enables real-time tracking, faster service delivery, and enhanced transparency, with each cylinder authenticated through DAC/OTP-based systems.

The Company’s supply chain has also demonstrated its ability to scale dynamically. As demand rises, operations across bottling plants, logistics networks, and distribution channels are intensified—ensuring that cylinders continue to move efficiently from source to doorstep.

Alongside this operational scale, HPCL has strengthened its vigilance framework to safeguard system integrity. Between 14th March and 13th April 2026, the Company conducted 4,999 inspections, taking action against 114 distributors, including 30 suspensions, while carrying out 660 raids, registering 41 FIRs, and seizing 3,674 LPG cylinders.

This integrated approach—combining scale, speed, and strict enforcement – ensures that LPG supplies reach genuine consumers without disruption, even during periods of heightened demand.

HPCL reiterates that its LPG supply ecosystem remains fully functional, adequately stocked, and operationally responsive, with any temporary pressure in select locations being effectively managed through continuous replenishment and coordinated logistics.

Consumers are advised to book refills as per requirement and avoid unnecessary stocking, enabling the supply chain to function smoothly for all.

With a nationwide network that seamlessly connects terminals to kitchens, HPCL continues to play a critical role in powering millions of homes with safe, reliable, and timely LPG supply every day.
