 GUWAHATI : 02346 Guwahati-Howrah Special Express derailed at 136/5-6 km near Chaigaon railway station in Kamrup rural district of Assam on Wednesday. The train left Guwahati railway station around 12.20pm on Wednesday. Giving this information, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Eastern Frontier Railway (NFR) Gunit Kaur said that the incident took place at Guwahati-Golpara around 1.36 pm. “Four coaches of the train including pantry car derailed,” NFR CPRO said.

 No passenger was injured and no casualties were reported in the incident. “Passengers of the affected coaches have been shifted to other coaches,” CPRO Kaur said. Kaur said that “On receiving information, the accident relief train and accident relief medical equipment train immediately left for the spot. Kaur said senior railway officials of NF railway headquarters and Rangia division are at the spot. Necessary assistance is being provided to all passengers. Nf Railway CPRO further said that restoration work has started.
