KOCHI: The World Heart Day celebrations and ‘Hridayasangamam’ (Heart Confluence), organised by the Heart Care Foundation, will be held on October 4 at the Lisie Hospital Auditorium in Kochi. Kochouseph Chittilappilly, Chairman of the Chittilappilly Foundation, will inaugurate the event at 11:00 AM and present this year’s Vocational Excellence Award, office-bearers of the foundation announced. Hridayasangamam is a special gathering of individuals who have undergone heart surgery and their family members.
Dr. Jose Chacko Periyapuram, Chairman of the Heart Care Foundation, will preside over the function, with Lisie Hospital Director Fr. Dr. Paul Karedan as the distinguished guest. Dr. Rony Mathew Kadavil, Head of the Department of Cardiology at Lisie Hospital; Raju Kannampuzha, Secretary of the Heart Care Foundation; Dr. Jacob Abraham, Trustee of the Heart Care Foundation; and Dr. Jo Joseph, Senior Consultant at the Lisie Heart Institute, will speak at the event.
As part of the confluence, awareness sessions and interactive discussions with medical experts have also been arranged. The awareness session, beginning at 10:00 AM, will be led by Dr. Jo Joseph. A medical panel discussion featuring Dr. Bhaskar Ranganathan, Dr. Jeevesh John Thomas, Dr. Murugan P., Dr. Jo Joseph, Felvin Mathew, and Dr. Nisha Vikraman will be held at 12:00 PM to address queries from participants.
Vocational Excellence Award for Prof. Dr. Thomas Koshy
Prof. Dr. Thomas Koshy has been selected for this year’s Heart Care Foundation Vocational Excellence Award. He is a former Senior Grade Professor at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology. His exceptional service and expertise in the field of cardiothoracic and vascular anaesthesia have earned him this recognition.
Chief guest Kochouseph Chittilappilly will present the award during the Hridayasangamam ceremony on October 4. Dr. Jacob Abraham, Trustee of the Heart Care Foundation, will introduce the award recipient. The award carries a cash prize of ₹50,000 along with a citation.
