Home Minister Amit Shah will be reaching Lucknow today to address the valedictory session of 47th All India Police science congress. The 2-day event was inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor of Puducheri and retired IPS officer Kiran Bedi yesterday.
Our correspondent reports that police officers from SP to DG rank from various states and union territories are participating in the annual event. Uttar Pradesh Police in association with the home ministry and the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD) is organising the event.
Apart from police, central agencies, including CBI, CRPF and BSF and academicians, judicial and forensic experts are also participating. The event has six topics spanning over two days. Yesterday, there were discussions on reforms in policing, forensic science and investigation and safety of women and children. Today’s topics will be the role of social media in countering radicalisation, inculcating attitudes in policemen and integrated criminal justice system.
