Pune : Hon’ble Dr. P. D. Patil, Chancellor, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune, was conferred the ‘Shikshan Maharshi Puraskar’ for his contribution to education and his work towards making learning accessible to students across sections of society.
The award was presented during the Dindi Sohala and the gathering of Warkaris organised by Vishwa Marathi Parishad at Pimpri, Pune.
The honor recognized Hon’ble Dr. Patil’s journey of nearly 58 years in the field of education. Over the decades, he has worked towards creating institutions that offer students access to learning, healthcare, research and professional opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Dr. P. D. Patil said that education has remained central to his life and work. He shared his belief that quality education should reach every household and reaffirmed his commitment to expanding educational opportunities for future generations.
Dignitaries present at the event spoke about his contribution to education and the growth of institutions under his leadership. They acknowledged his role in helping students pursue their aspirations and gain recognition in India and abroad.
Under his guidance, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune, has grown as a centre for higher education, research, healthcare and student development. The Vidyapeeth continues to focus on academic standards while creating opportunities that prepare students for changing professional needs.
Hon’ble Dr. P. D. Patil expressed his gratitude for the honour and dedicated it to the students, faculty members and stakeholders who have been part of the institution’s journey.
The event was attended by former Member of Parliament Amar Sable, MLC Umatai Khapre, MLA Shankar Jagtap, former Mayor Nana Kate and former Chairman of the Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority Sadashiv Khade. Educationists, social leaders, public representatives and members of the academic community were also present.
