IBM announces Quantum-Safe Technology and Roadmap

0 48

Today at IBM’s annual Think conference, IBM announced its new IBM Quantum Safe technologya comprehensive set of tools and capabilities, combined with IBM’s deep security expertise, designed as an end-to-end solution to be made available to organizations as they prepare their cybersecurity for the post-quantum era.

The new technology includes three capabilities, including:

  • IBM Quantum Safe Explorer to enable organizations to scan source and object code to locate cryptographic assets, dependencies, and vulnerabilities to build a cryptography bill of materials (CBOM). This allows teams to view and aggregate all potential risks into one central location.
  • IBM Quantum Safe Advisor allows the creation of a dynamic cryptographic inventory to guide remediation and analyzes cryptographic posture and compliance to prioritize risks.
  • IBM Quantum Safe Remediator enables organizations to test quantum-safe remediation patterns to understand the potential impacts on systems and assets as they prepare to deploy quantum-safe solutions.

In addition to the new capabilities, IBM will unveil its IBM Quantum Safe Roadmap, the first comprehensive blueprint to guide organizations on their quantum-safe journey.

As quantum computers advance they will soon reach the ability to break the most widely used security protocols in the world. With quantum technology rapidly improving, last year, the US government released new requirements and guidelines for federal agencies serving as a wake-up call to start the quantum-safe transition. IBM’s Quantum Safe technology and roadmap will ensure organizations have an actionable blueprint to meet new requirements and prepare for the quantum era.
