ICAI Organizes Webinar on “India – Superpower to Superpower”

Hyderabad: A technical meet on the topic – “India – Super Power to Super Power” was organized by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India through a webinar on Saturday. The Group Chairman of the GMR group, Sri G. Mallikarjuna Rao participated in this webinar as the chief guest and technical speaker. He shared his views amidst the virtual presence of several industry delegates. From Institute of Cost Accountants of India, CMA Balwinder Singh, President,  CMA Biswarup Basu, Vice President; Central Council Members Dr. CMA KCHAVSN Murthy, CMA H. Padmanabhan, CMA KVN Lavanya  were present during this meeting which was attended by national and international delegates.

Mr GM Rao started his talk by quoting India’s supremacy during the ancient period with respect to its rich culture, tradition, science and astronomical knowledge, spirituality, great inventions, education system, scriptures and the Vedas consisting timeless wisdom, our wholesome food, and intelligence of Indians, ancient medicine, food habits, spiritual practices, Vedas and scriptures, education system, role of Sanskrit and the Indian leaders in MNCs across the world.

He attributed the success of Indians across the world to the Indian DNA and gave credit to the ancient wisdom, and strong cultural value based upbringing. He mentioned that India was the economic powerhouse of the world till eighteenth century but lost its sheen due to subjugation by the British Empire.

Mr Rao expressed his optimistic views that the past glory will be achieved in the coming years and that India will regain its economic supremacy.

He has strongly opined that the world looks towards India for leadership in – innovation, technology, demographic dividend and human capital, convergence, transformative reforms, FDI norms, self- reliant Bharat, new education policy and the right priorities focused by the nation.

He also emphasized on the role of cost accountants to advise companies on cost optimization techniques to stay competitive, and innovative ways of cost reduction. The man who believes that a business must run like a family and a family must run like a business, Mr. G M Rao concluded by saying that “A culturally strong nation can withstand any challenges and Our DNA is such that we quickly bounce back from the challenges”.

Mr. GM Rao also took a few questions from the participants and provide adequate response filled with his anecdotally rich entrepreneurial journey for the benefit of all.
