The theme of this year’s showcase, “Trust in Technology: Security, Privacy, and Transparency,” highlights the growing importance of building trustworthy digital systems in an era shaped by artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Hyderabad : The International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-Hyderabad) will host the 25th edition of its annual R&D Showcase 2026 on March 14 and 15, 2026, at the IIIT Hyderabad campus.
The two-day event will bring together researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, startups, and students to explore cutting-edge innovations emerging from the institute’s research ecosystem.
The theme of this year’s showcase, “Trust in Technology: Security, Privacy, and Transparency,” highlights the growing importance of building trustworthy digital systems in an era shaped by artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
The event will begin with an Inaugural Session on March 14 featuring welcome remarks by Prof. Sandeep K. Shukla, Director, IIIT Hyderabad, followed by an address by Prof. Deva Priyakumar U., Dean (R&D). The inaugural program will also include research spotlights from the Center for Security, Theory and Algorithmic Research (CSTAR) and the Cyber Manthan Centre (CMC).
The inaugural address will be delivered by Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO of Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). A keynote panel discussion titled “Building Trust in the Indian Cyber Space: Privacy, Security, Transparency in the Era of Emerging Technologies” will bring together leading experts from academia, government, and industry.
From 12:00 PM onwards, the R&D Showcase will feature demonstrations and poster presentations highlighting IIIT-Hyderabad’s cutting-edge research across multiple domains. The afternoon will also host Confluence sessions, closed-door industry–research dialogues focusing on Cyber Security and Privacy in the AI Era and AI for Theory and Theory for AI.
The program will further include a Startup Showcase, presenting emerging ventures from the institute’s innovation ecosystem, and an Industry Roundtable on “The Agentic AI Bandwagon.”
On March 15, the event will continue with Excitement of Research (ExoR), a Research Showcase, and a Faculty Futures Roundtable discussing “The Grant Reality: Hope, Hype and Honest Conversations.” The event will conclude with a Patents Celebration at Research Street, recognizing innovation and intellectual property contributions from the IIIT-Hyderabad community.
The R&D Showcase is one of IIIT-Hyderabad’s flagship events, offering a platform for meaningful collaboration between academia, industry, and government while showcasing impactful research shaping the future of technology.
