IMD issues red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand today. While in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected today.

The weather agency estimated heavy rainfall over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra over the next 3-4 days. Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are expected to witness similar weather conditions during the same period. 

Meanwhile, since this morning, several areas of the National Capital have been witnessing very light to light rainfall. The Met Department has issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rainfall over the National Capital today.
