GUWAHATI : The All Assam Students Union (AASU) is performing with black flags at all the district headquarters during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dhemaji today. Protests have been held in support of their demands to implement Clause VI of the Assam Accord, address the problems posed by mega dams and declare floods and erosion as national disasters. The All Assam Students Union has continued to oppose the CAA and black flags were shown to the Prime Minister and BJP leader by the Students ‘ Association of Assam. ASU showed black flags to BJP leaders across Assam. The Prime Minister was shown black flags in Dhemaji Yatra.

Earlier on Sunday evening, members of the All Assam Students Union (AASU) had shown black flags to the BJP leader and also raised slogans against the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019. The students ‘ unions had already announced that they would oppose the Citizenship Amendment Act during pm’s visit. The student organization has alleged that during the Prime Minister’s visit, “the government wants to buy the public. The public buses were used for ferrying the people from every nook and corner of Assam. There was no support from the local people in this public meeting of the Prime Minister. That is why the ruling BJP government in Assam had to ferry people from every nook and corner of Assam and misuse the government public transport system.”
