GUWAHATI : Police have launched a secret operation in Bharlumukh police station area of Assam’s capital late on Tuesday night and recovered a large quantity of gold biscuits, coins and gold necklaces. It is estimated to be worth about 50 lakh rupees. With this, cash worth Rs 8 lakh has also been recovered. According to reports, Bharlumukh police have conducted a tip-off and recovered a large quantity of gold biscuits, necklaces and coins from a car. In this context, police have arrested two youths manoj shah and aman ali. The duo was passing through Jalukbari area of Guwahati from Nagaon when police nabbed them. The value of the recovered gold is said to be around 50 lakh rupees.

 Police are continuing investigation in this regard. Police have also arrested several others involved in the case. They are being questioned. One of those arrested is a police sub inspector named Badri Prasad Bauri. The police name is considered to be very important to be associated with the incident. Badri Prasad Bauri had joined Kamakhya railway police station as sub inspector ten days ago. Police are continuing to investigate the case. Sources said the entire truth will come out only after investigation. A senior police official said, Bharlu police arrested SI Badri Prasad Barauti, who sold gold to a businessman in Nagaon, for which he was given a percentage to an SI worth Rs 8 lakh. Bharu police also seized the amount from the SI. Police are also accused of being involved in selling smuggled gold for a long time. SI Badri Prasad Barauti’s car has also been seized by Bharlu police.
