In Haryana, Governor Satyapal Narayan Arya hoisted the national flag at Panchkula at the main Republic Day function. He took salute from the contingents of police , home guards, NCC and other participants of the Republic Day parade.
Addressing the gathering he said that Haryana is progressing fast in every field. He said that the state has made a mark by successfully implementing the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, scheme of Prime Minister.
The Governor said the girl child ratio which was 871 per thousand in 2014 has now reached 914 per 1000. On Swachhata Abhiyan he said , Haryana has become an ODF state and is in first position in Gramin Swachhata Survey. Earlier this morning Governor paid tribute to the martyrs at Shaheed Samatal in sector 12 of Panchkula.
