Jorhat : In between the festival of colour two political party candidates Sushanta Borgohain from the Indian National Congress and Kanak Gogoi from Communist Party Of India (CPI) filed their nomination paper to Roshni A Korati, the Returning Officer of the 12 Jorhat Lok Sabha Constituency at her office chamber along with supporters here today.
Both the candidates were first to submit nomination for the prestigious Lok Sabha constituency which will be covering 10 Legislative Assembly seats where a total of 1343875 voters will elect their representative to the Hose of the People in the Parliament.
The Congress candidate Sushanta Borgohain, a new face to INC who hails from Moran was accompanied by over 10,000 party supporters with the beats of dhul, pepa, joy dhul along with the steps of jhumur, missing and bihu dance walked among the supporters from the Congress Bhawan accompanied by senior congress leaders like -Dip Gogoi-District Congress Committee president cum former MP, Rupjyoti Kurmi-sitting Mariani Congress MLA, Rana Goswami-All India Nikhil Congress Committee general secretary submitted three sets of nomination papers to the Returning Officer and Deputy Returning Officer.
While Kanak Gogoi, the CPI candidate who hails from Abhoyapuri, Nazira, a new face and prominent social worker from Sivasagar district filed three sets of nomination papers to the Returning Officer who was accompanied by three of his official supporters. Earlier the CPI Candidate was accompanied by a number of minimum supporters till to the entrance of the DC’s Office.
Both the candidates after submission of papers took the oath that they will follow all rules and regulation committed by the constitution of India in front of the Returning Officer Roshni A Korati and Deputy Returning Officer Jayanta Goswami. The front portion of the DC’s office wore a festive look along with the festival of colours that the people were celebrating which made a look of enthusiastic to both thye party supporters in presence of galaxy of media and security personnel that lasted for around 5 hours here today.
