Chennai: The Union Minister for Communications and North East Region Jyotiraditya Scindia said that India has become a global manufacturing hub under the Atma Nirbhar Scheme. In his inaugural address at the CISCO’s state of the art manufacturing facility at Sriperumbudur near Chennai on Friday, he said that the inauguration of this facility in India is a testament to the Country’s growth in the global technology landscape. He said that this would amplify India’s holistic growth of the telecom system. This will be the first phase of a multi-year investment project to generate more than 1.3 billion US dollar annually in combined exports and domestic production.
CISCO has partnered with Flex (NASDAQ: FLEX) to successfully build the Chennai site and bring advanced telecom technology that can help connect citizens in India and globally. This will initially focus on Cisco’s Network Convergence System 540 series of routers.
