Jorhat : With a month left for the festival of Democracy, the 12th Jorhat Lok Sabha Constituency is all ready with 10 Legislative Assembly Constituencies with 1753 Urban and Rural Polling Station, 682890 male, 660985 female, 7 D-Voters, 4432 service voters out of 4377-mle, 55-female while 5342 disable voters will franchise their right to vote, said Roshni Aparanjita Korati, the Returning Officer of 12th Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency told the media at the DC’s Conference Hall here today.
The Returning Officer Roshni Aparanjita Korati was accompanied by Vaibhav Nimbalkar, the Superintendent of Police, Jorhat, Tapan Gogoi-Election Officer, Jorhat among Sarodi Gogoi, the DIPRO.
On security scenario, the SP told newsperson that a total of 33 polling station has been identified to be critical, 37 vulnerable which is divided into 35 zones and 147 sectors. Regarding central para=military forces, 4 regiments are likely tp arrive by this month along with state police force and battalion.
Moreover thye 12th Jorhat Lok Sabha Constituency comprises of 10 Legislative Assembly segments are=Jorhat, Titabor, Mariani, Teok, Amguri, Nazira, Mahmora, Sonari, Thowra, Sivasagar and around 1343875 voters with 682890 male and 660985 female, informed Tapan Gogoi, the District Election Officer here.
While Geetawali Rajkumari, noted Assamese Silver Screen actress is the District icon for the Jorhat Election along with 12 campus ambassador s from 12 premiere institutes from the district will take part to attract the first time voters which will from the upcoming new generation, the Returning Officer added.
