Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao will be swearing in as the Chief Minister of Telangana this afternoon. Some ministers are also likely to take oath along with him at a ceremonial programme to be held in Raj Bhavan at Hyderabad.

TRS has won over two-thirds of the 119 seats in the recently held Assembly elections after the youngest state of the country went for an early-poll earlier this year. Mr Rao said a full-fledged cabinet will be formed in a few days to come.

In Mizoram, a new government of Mizo National Front (MNF), headed by Zoramthanga will be sworn in on Saturday. It was decided at a meeting between the state Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan and a delegation of the MNF party led by Zoramthanga at Raj Bhavan in Aizawl last evening.

In the 40-seated Assembly, MNF has secured a landslide victory bagging 26 seats. The ruling Congress was reduced to 5 seats as per the poll results declared on 11th.

Meanwhile, Congress President Rahul Gandhi today said, consultations are on within the party on the selection of Chief Ministerial candidates for Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Talking to media outside Parliament, he said, an announcement will be made shortly.
