KaiSemi marks Kerala’s entry into the global semiconductor sector; New Technopark office inaugurated by Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty
Thiruvananthapuram : Marking Kerala’s presence in the high-demand global market for semiconductor equipment, ‘KaiSemi Control Systems Private Limited’ has launched a new office at Technopark. The state-of-the-art facility at Kallai Building, Technopark Phase One, was inaugurated by the Minister for Industries, Information Technology, and AI, P.K. Kunhalikutty.
KaiSemi began operations at the STPI Building in Technopark with a 7-member team. In a short span, it has grown into a strong company with over 30 employees and has now moved to larger facilities. The move is aimed at strengthening India’s footprint in the global semiconductor market.
Instead of manufacturing chips directly, KaiSemi develops world-class software to control the highly complex, massive machines used in chip fabrication — particularly ion implanters. The company’s flagship product is this software, marketed under the brand ‘KCS’ – KaiSemi Control Systems. The system precisely controls critical processes in chip fabrication plants, or ‘Fabs’, including robotics, valve control, and beam tuning.
Speaking at the inauguration, Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty said that the entry of leading companies like KaiSemi into such strategic sectors is a major boost for Kerala’s talented youth. “We must make the best use of the opportunities and facilities available in Kerala. We are moving forward very fast on the path of growth, and the government is providing the ecosystem needed to take Kerala’s industrial sector forward,” he added.
Also present at the event were E&IT Department Secretary Seeram Sambasiva Rao, Technopark CEO Sandeep Kumar IAS, KaiSemi Managing Director and Founder of Kingstone Semiconductor Jeff Scott Boeker, Directors Mrs. Anu Joseph and Mr. Fahad Abdul Salam, KaiSemi Director and COO of Agentiv-X Mr. Tony Joseph, directors of various companies at Technopark, and staff from the Park Centre and KaiSemi.
The company management stated that the strong technical skills of job seekers in Kerala and Technopark’s world-class infrastructure were key reasons for choosing Thiruvananthapuram for their first branch in India.
Adhering strictly to international SEMI Standards, KaiSemi provides control system design, equipment integration, and 24×7 maintenance support, and exports its software products globally. With plans to begin machine manufacturing in India, the company is expected to open up significant job opportunities for mechanical, electronics, and process engineers, IT professionals, and candidates with post-graduate degrees or PhDs in Physics.
