In Assam, amid the rise in Coronavirus cases, a complete lockdown has been imposed in Kamrup Metro district from tonight. It will be in force for the next 14 days.
Movement of individuals will remain strictly prohibited during the total lock down period.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that lockdown has been announced keeping in mind the larger interest of the people. He asserted that the lockdown that will be in force for next 14 days is for the safety of the people in Guwahati.
The Chief Minister assured that the Assam government would support youth to make the state Atma Nirbhar. He said, the fight against COVID-19 will be continued along with the economic activities in the state.
