The “Kanavu Meippada Vendum” (Dreams Must Come True) scholarship scheme for higher education has been an initiative since 2025 through Veritas Foundation, which functions under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Veritas Finance Limited. In the first year, 40 students from Perambalur & few other districts were selected, and they are currently pursuing the second year of their higher education.

For the Academic Year 2026–27, 100 school students from more than 15 districts across Tamil Nadu have been selected under the scholarship scheme to pursue a three-year undergraduate degree.

Scholarship Distribution Ceremony Held at Jamal Mohamed College

To mark this significant initiative, a Scholarship Distribution Ceremony was held at Jamal Mohamed College, Tiruchirappalli. The event was presided over by Dr. T. S. Sridhar, IAS (Retd.), Chairman of Veritas Foundation and a distinguished social leader. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sridhar highlighted the transformative role of higher education in shaping the future of rural young minds and encouraged the scholarship recipients to make the best use of the opportunities provided to them.

Dr. K. Abdus Samad, Assistant Secretary of Jamal Mohamed College, graced the occasion as the Special Guest. In his address, he congratulated the selected students and emphasized the importance of academic excellence, perseverance, and social responsibility.

Mr. D. Arulmany, Founder and Managing Director of Veritas Finance Limited and Managing Trustee of the Veritas Foundation, Dr. R. Jahir Hussain, Principal of the Jamal Mohammed College and other college faculties, educationists, social activists, and 100 scholarship-selected students, accompanied by their parents, participated in this event.

Addressing the students, Mr. D. Arulmany, Veritas Finance Limited and Managing Trustee of the Veritas Foundation, mentioned that academic marks serve merely as an entry key; it is the organization that provides them with the key to education itself. He urged them to channel their hard work into continuous personal progress and bring pride to their parents, offering his warmest wishes for their future endeavours.

The “Kanavu Meippada Vendum” scholarship scheme is more than a financial assistance programme; it serves as a beacon of hope that nurtures the aspirations of young minds and empowers them to pursue their dreams with confidence.

At present, 140 students are pursuing higher education through this transformative initiative. As part of this initiative of the Veritas Foundation, priority has been accorded to students from the commerce stream. Notably, female students constitute 75 per cent of the beneficiaries, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to promoting educational opportunities and empowering young women through higher education.

Looking ahead, the Veritas Foundation envisions expanding the reach of the “Kanavu Meippada Vendum” scheme to all districts across Tamil Nadu, thereby extending its support to a larger number of deserving students and contributing to the creation of a more equitable and educated society.
