After an overwhelming response to previous editions, Karigar Bazaar returns to Bengaluru from 4th–14th September 2026 with its largest and most ambitious gathering yet. Set at the historic Jaya Mahal Palace Hotel, this 11-day celebration brings together over 250 artisan-led stalls representing handmade traditions from 26+ Indian states and union territories, alongside select international participants.
More than a shopping destination, Karigar Bazaar is a movement dedicated to protecting India’s living craft heritage and reconnecting people with authentic craftsmanship in an era dominated by mass production.
Why Authentic Matters
Bengaluru has witnessed a proliferation of “craft bazaars” in recent years. However, many have gradually shifted away from genuine handmade traditions, blending artisan products with mass-produced merchandise and commercial offerings. Karigar Bazaar stands apart: every participating artisan is carefully curated to ensure authenticity, quality and direct representation of India’s extraordinary craft traditions.
“A genuine craft bazaar begins with the artisan—the hands that weave, carve, paint, embroider and preserve traditions passed down through generations,” the organizers emphasize. “Namma Bengaluru deserves a bazaar where every stall has a story, every craft has a legacy and every purchase supports a real artisan.”
Who You’ll Meet
Visitors will encounter National Award-winning artisans, GI Tag craft practitioners, master craftsmen preserving centuries-old techniques, rural artisan communities, young craft entrepreneurs and social enterprises empowering artisan clusters. Many participating artisans will showcase their work in Bengaluru for the first time, offering rare opportunities to interact directly with makers and purchase authentic products without intermediaries.
An Immersive Experience
Karigar Bazaar transcends conventional shopping. Visitors can witness live craftsmanship, participate in workshops, enjoy folk performances and savour regional cuisines from across India. Whether you’re an architect, designer, collector, student or craft enthusiast, the experience connects you meaningfully with India’s creative diversity.
Family-Friendly, Pet-Friendly
The bazaar welcomes everyone—including your four-legged companions. Children below 5 years enter free.
