Karnataka CM orders ten days lockdown in five municipal wards

Expressing concern over the alarming increase in COVID 19 cases in Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has ordered ten days lockdown in five municipal wards comprising  Siddapura, Vishveshpura, Kalasipalya, Vidyaranyapura and Dharmaraya swamy temple where COVID cases are more in number.

He asked officials to seal the entire street where the cases are reported and directed them to file FIR against those who violate quarantine norms. He however told officials to provide basic amenities to those in institutional quarantine.

Revenue Minister R Ashok informed media persons that COVID war room will keep tab of vacant beds in Government and private hospitals. He informed that nodal officers will be appointed to arrange beds for COVID patients and to shift asymptomatic patients to COVID Care Centres. Fever clinics operating in some municipal wards will be extended to all the wards for screening and testing of suspected cases.
