Karnataka CM to analyze Covid situations with experts

In Karnataka, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar will hold a meeting with experts and senior officers in the afternoon to discuss ways forward in COVID management. AIR correspondent reports that the meeting derives importance due to alarming increase in the cases especially in Bengaluru Urban, Ballary, Kalburgi and Yedgir districts.

The pandemic is doubling at the rate of 15 days in Karnataka. The COVID cases are growing at the rate of 5.7 per cent daily as against the national average of 8.1 per cent. According to the household survey conducted in over one crore 58 lakh 42 thousand households, it is enumerated that over 64 lakh 21 thousand people are at risk of contracting Corona virus and there are over 16 lakh 14 thousand elderly persons with co-morbid conditions such as high BP, diabetes or cardiac problems.

There are 29,775 elderly persons suffering from Influenza like illness or COVID symptoms.
