Kokrajhar: Giving a boost to the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign in the region, a newly constructed Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Girls hostel at Titaguri in Kokrajhar was inaugurated today. The 100 bedded hostel will house girl students, especially from disadvantage section of the society, from class 9 to 12.
In his speech, the BTC chief executive member said the hostel will boost the girl students from poor economic background to continue their education staying in the hostel. He also said such school and hostel will facilitate retention of girls, ensure greater participation of girls in education, develop and promote facilitates to provide access to girls belonging to disadvantaged groups like scheduled tribes and scheduled castes.
He also stressed the need of education policy in the region by which the students can success in their life.
