Kejriwal urges more recovered patients to donate plasma, citing demand

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said the demand for plasma in Delhi is more than its supply. He said, the number of people who need plasma is more than those coming forward to donate it. He appealed to eligible people to come forward and donate plasma.

Addressing the media in New Delhi, Mr. Kejriwal said, trials have shown that plasma therapy can help in the recovery of Corona patients. He said, our team is calling up people and requesting them to donate plasma. He asked the hospitals to give counselling to patients who have recovered from this disease and encourage them to donate plasma.

Recently, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the Plasma Bank for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. The facility has been set up at Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi. The interested donors can call 1031 and can whatsapp at 8800007722 to donate the plasma. Afterwards, doctors will get in touch with the interested donors and will confirm their eligibility. Only those people can donate the plasma, who was recovered from Corona virus and completed the 14 days quarantine period. People between the age group of 18 to 60 having the weight above 50 kilograms can donate plasma for COVID-19 patients. Women who have given birth or the persons with chronic health issues are not eligible to donate plasma. The plasma will be given only after the preion of the Doctors.
