Kerala trawling ban begins from midnight today

Fifty two days long annual monsoon season trawling ban will come into effect in Kerala coast from midnight today. In this connection fishing vessels from the state operating along the Kerala shore must leave the region before midnight today. The fifty two days long ban designed to coincide with the fish breeding season will help replenish marine fishery resources. The Fisheries Department will carry out search and rescue operations and patrolling during the period.
