Mangaldai : The troops of Red Horns Division deployed in Darrang and Udalguri district to assist the civil 
administration in fighting against the insurgency organized a ‘Know Your Army’ stall’ at the Parade Ground in the DC’s office complex during the ceremonial celebration of the 70th R-Day which became the point of attraction for everyone present in the celebration. The inquisitive young generation irrespective of gender made a beeline before the stall only to have a glance of the weapons displayed by the ‘Friends in the Olive Green’.
The unit of Indian Army with the humble intention to acquaint the local population particularly the younger generations more about the contribution of Army organized the stall. While the touch of personnel Small Arms and Weapon seemed to be exciting, the locals got a boost in their adrenaline in bayonet fighting enclosure. The Military Band of Army adding special fervor to the celebration, gave the background beat to the marching contingents and was appreciated by one and all. This is informed by an army source based at Chapai, Mangaldai.
The effort of Army to engage itself in all social activities will go a long way towards improving civil –military relationship and instilling sense of secure environment. The source added.
