Seoul- Korean Air will launch a daily service between Seoul Incheon and Hiroshima starting December 23, further strengthening its network in Japan’s Chugoku region.
Flight KE2183 departs Seoul Incheon at 10:35 AM and arrives in Hiroshima at 12:15 PM. The return flight, KE2184, departs Hiroshima at 1:25 PM and arrives at Seoul Incheon at 3:25 PM. The route will be served by the airline’s Airbus A321neo fleet.
As the largest city in the Chugoku region, Hiroshima features a rich heritage of history, culture and natural scenery. Key landmarks include Itsukushima Shrine – a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized as one of the Three Views of Japan – alongside the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and the historic Shukkeien Garden.
The destination is also famous for its hot springs, culinary offerings, and leisure activities, featuring traditional hot spring towns such as Tomonoura and Kinoe, as well as local specialties like Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, fresh oysters, and local beef. Additionally, several golf courses are situated within an hour of Hiroshima Airport, making the city a popular destination for golf enthusiasts.
Beyond tourism, Hiroshima is a key industrial hub, serving as home to Mazda Motor Corporation’s headquarters and manufacturing plants, a major Micron Technology semiconductor facility, and key operations for JFE Steel and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The city also serves as a strategic regional gateway with high-speed Sanyo Shinkansen rail connections to major cities across western Japan, including Okayama.
The Hiroshima launch reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to expanding connectivity across regional Japan. The airline has increased its Seoul Incheon–Aomori service to five weekly flights for the summer season, and expanded its Seoul Incheon-Okayama route to four weekly flights. The airline also operates daily flights to Niigata and Komatsu, and has added a late-night service to Osaka Kansai to offer passengers enhanced schedule flexibility.
