On the occassion, Vice-Chancellor Professor Nirmala Rao said, “ This year, we are graduating a record number of students.  Of course, as university community members, we place emphasis on academic success but here at Krea, we also seek to address issues of global concern. At the heart of Krea, is a civic and academic goal to cultivate successive generations of leaders who possess the mindset, determination, skills, and resources to address the challenges of social and economic advancement of their communities. Our students possess exceptional talent, potential, and intellect, and each of our graduands in their own way has enriched this University. Their degree is a hugely important milestone. Their studies at Krea have taken them to the frontier of their subject, testing the boundaries of that discipline and, in many cases, expanding those limits to establish a higher level of understanding.”

Addressing the graduates, Sri Gopalkrishna Gandhi said, ‘I want to say that your happiness today is going to be abridged by many situations tomorrow. Many of them require action so, que sera sera or ‘what will be will be’ should not be the answer. There is something that you can add to what will be, will be, on the lines of our great epic. Our great Gita says, let what will be will be, but do what you think you should do from the core of your heart. Giant problems long ignored are solved very often by action taken by the young. You are all little sparks. The stars with the spark that brighten the night so dark.”
